🛍️ Buying

Anyone can browse the marketplace. Buying needs a TCG Archivist account, the same one you use in the app.

🔍 Browsing

Open Browse in the portal. Every card for sale appears as one tile per printing and finish, with the market price. Search by name, or narrow the results with the sidebar: set, rarity, colour, type, finish and price.

Click a card's image to open it. The Details tab shows the printing, the Collection tab shows where you already own copies of it, and the Marketplace tab lists every seller offering it, with their rating, shipping record and price.

🛒 The cart

  1. On the Marketplace tab of a card, pick how many copies you want from a seller and tap Add to cart
  2. The cart groups items by seller. Each seller is checked out separately, since each one ships their own package
  3. Open the cart from the account menu in the top right

If you add cards while signed out, they are held for you and land in your cart once you sign in.

💳 Checkout

Stripe collects your payment details and shipping address. Your credit card is authorized, not charged: the hold becomes a real charge only when the seller accepts.

The cart offers two shipping tiers:

  • Untracked, for small orders under the tracked threshold. The seller stamps and mails it
  • Tracked, with a prepaid label bought automatically. Required above the threshold

See Fees and deadlines for the current amounts.

⏳ After you order

The seller accepts. Accepting and shipping share one window from your order. If the seller declines, or the order expires unaccepted, your credit card is never charged.

The seller ships inside that same window. The order appears under Purchases in your Orders tab, and a tracked package shows its tracking there.

Mark it received. When the cards arrive, confirm receipt and tell the app where you are storing them: they are added to your collection at that location. Bought as a gift? Tick the box to keep them out of your collection. If you forget, the order auto-completes and the cards are filed under a location named Marketplace.

Rate the seller. Ratings are blind: yours is hidden until the other side rates you.

❓ Common questions

When is my credit card actually charged?

When the seller accepts. Until then Stripe only holds the amount.

What if my order never arrives?

Report it from the order any time after shipping. The order freezes, the seller is notified, and a refund goes back to your credit card if it does not turn up.

Can an order be cancelled?

A seller can cancel before shipping for a full refund. Deadlines enforce themselves: an order that expires unaccepted releases the hold, and an unshipped one past its deadline is cancelled and refunded automatically.
